Stunning view, trendy decor, bar or restaurant, the rooftop is a good way to get away from it all while staying in the heart of the city! Moreover, all the biggest cities in the world are doing it… Here is an ingenious, unusual and exotic idea to gain height and admire the “Venice of the North” below. On the rooftops and under the stars, it's time to discover this Nordic city, from a new perspective. Follow us, we're going on a tour of the best rooftops in Stockholm.
The Urban Deli is the most amazing garden in Norrmalm. A wooden terrace that criss-crosses the roof of a building. Palisades that structure this esplanade, taking you from one space to another. Lawns, small gardens, play areas, everything has been thought out to enhance your evening... You might think you're in the countryside, if it weren't for this 360° panorama of Stockholm stretching out in front of your eyes. Here you are at the top of a nine-story building! You can walk around it, cocktail in hand, and admire the sunset over the city's rooftops. On the other hand, this "roof park" is very popular. Remember to book your table in advance. It is an outing that is one of the essentials!
Want to go even higher? Meet at the Himlen rooftop, on Götgatan Avenue, in the Södermalm district. From the top of its 25 floors, it is the most dizzying address in Stockholm! The ascent of the Skrapan Tower alone is worth the detour. You're not actually on the roof, but its huge glass windows give you an incredible view of Stockholm. Inside, this panoramic bar has the advantage of welcoming you all year round, in a cozy and refined atmosphere. It's the perfect place to sip a cocktail and relax after a shopping spree in SoFo!
The Rooftop Garden is a paradise, well hidden on the roofs of Vasaplan, in the Norrmalm district. A rooftop to take care of yourself and clear your head, that's a nice idea! Depending on your wishes and the time available, you can have a drink in a perched orangery, take a dip in the swimming pool with an extraordinary view of the island of Kungsholmen, or relax during a well-being treatment at the spa. And that's the bonus of this address: The Selma City Spa, which is on the top floor of the Clarion Hotel.
The Barrio is nestled in an unusual building, in the middle of small old buildings, on the island of Södermalm, not far from Högalid Park. Below the level of the roofs, we are far from the sensational views of some rooftops, but its decoration gives it a crazy charm. Large painted wooden panels, furniture that seems to have been antique or salvaged, green plants and a view of the harbor in the distance. This rooftop has a bohemian air. The atmosphere is friendly, intimate and warm. It's a place where you feel good for an aperitif with friends!
The Gondolen is a gourmet restaurant on the Port of Stadsgarden. What sets it apart is its footbridge perched 38 meters above the port. The restaurant is installed in the covered part under the platform. This rather narrow corridor gives it the appearance of a liner. The bar is located in the open air, on this unusual "roof", so it really is a rooftop! Its view of Gamla Stan and the mouth of Lake Mälaren is breathtaking. Having a drink there at sunset, watching the incessant ballet of the ferries, is a magical moment.
To go even further, a company organizes tours of the roofs of Stockholm. A short route that offers you an unusual angle of view of the "North Star".
