Stockholm, a little corner of paradise for cyclists

The city is incredible, made up of 14 islands in the heart of an archipelago of 25,000 preserved islands that offer panoramas worthy of a postcard lit by the soft Scandinavian light. The omnipresent nature invites relaxation and escape with multiple bike rides, circuits regularly taken by Stockholmers who use this means of transport to go to work or get around. This shows that two-wheelers have their place in this city nicknamed the Venice of the North with very well-designed paths where art appears in all its forms, the result of the 1% rule. The principle? Grant 1% of the budget of each construction project to the art that invests the city between painting, sculpture and works of art. Stockholm by bike is more than a ride, it is a true immersion in the heart of Scandinavian culture.

The Viking Route north of Stockholm

Take a trip back in time on your bicycle by escaping to Gamla Uppsala, the Viking cradle reputed to be an ancient major religious center dedicated to the Norse gods. The fairly simple route starts from Domkyrka Cathedral and arrives at Gamla Uppsala along cycle paths where 4 hills rise, each with their own story. A gathering place, protector of more than 215 Viking burials or keeper of Byzantine gold and onyx jewelry, they bear witness to the life of the Vikings settled around Lake Mälaren.
