The Viking Museum is an experience based museum for all ages that tells the story of Viking Age Scandinavia – from brave seafarers to the people who stayed at home at the farms. The exhibition is in constant development and is updated in step with new scientific research and archaeological findings. Here, visitors get the opportunity to learn about one of history’s most mythical periods in an innovative and interactive way – through movies, sound effects, objects and scenic environments. There are several guided tours in English everyday, held by knowledgeable guides in Viking age attire. It is also possible to explore the museum with an audio guide, which is available in ten languages (including French) and is included in the entrance fee.
The Viking Museum also has its own ride, Ragnfrid’s saga – an adventure filled story about a Viking Age family and a raid through 10th century Europe. The ride takes eleven minutes and is available in nine languages, including French.
