    • The Viking Museum is an experience based museum for all ages that tells the story of Viking Age Scandinavia – from brave seafarers to the people who stayed at home at the farms. The exhibition is in constant development and is updated in step with new scientific research and archaeological findings. Here, visitors get the opportunity to learn about one of history’s most mythical periods in an innovative and interactive way – through movies, sound effects, objects and scenic environments. There are several guided tours in English everyday, held by knowledgeable guides in Viking age attire. It is also possible to explore the museum with an audio guide, which is available in ten languages (including French) and is included in the entrance fee.

The Viking Museum also has its own ride, Ragnfrid’s saga – an adventure filled story about a Viking Age family and a raid through 10th century Europe. The ride takes eleven minutes and is available in nine languages, including French.

It was not a huge museum, but the quality of artifacts along with poated information and the free tour we're really outstanding. You may have to wait for the English tour if you come around lunch. Don't miss this opportunity if you're in the area. The gift shop is excellent as well. Save a little time for lunch, there are several very good restaurants in the immediate area.

The Viking Museum looks pretty interesting to look around when it is related to the Vikings, as it is very calming. Surely there was a lot to look at, which is fine for me. Very relaxing and peaceful which is good that I can be looking and listening better. The ride was a nice but the language was in Swedish, but that was not a big of a deal. I do recommend to visit for sure whenever you want to know about history of Vikings, as long you are interested into them.

Overall it was a nice experience. There are guided tours in the museum which you can have in both English and Swedish depending on the session. What I most enjoyed was the ride at the end of the museum. It was a well-made ride and great experience for us. Please note that the ride might be really simulating for children under 3 years of age.

Lots of information crammed together which meant with so many visitors difficult to digest. Also difficult to discern the myth from the reality although the museum blurb does say ‘here the border...

This was surprisingly good. There was a lot of good information and actors going around. To end the museum, there was a story-telling ride about the life of a Viking family. Worth the visit if you...

This museum had some good exhibits, but overall, not as good as I had hoped. I feel like it gave a good overview of Viking life in the beginning halls, but the ride sort of creeped my kids out...
