    • The Viking Museum is an experience based museum for all ages that tells the story of Viking Age Scandinavia – from brave seafarers to the people who stayed at home at the farms. The exhibition is in constant development and is updated in step with new scientific research and archaeological findings. Here, visitors get the opportunity to learn about one of history’s most mythical periods in an innovative and interactive way – through movies, sound effects, objects and scenic environments. There are several guided tours in English everyday, held by knowledgeable guides in Viking age attire. It is also possible to explore the museum with an audio guide, which is available in ten languages (including French) and is included in the entrance fee.

The Viking Museum also has its own ride, Ragnfrid’s saga – an adventure filled story about a Viking Age family and a raid through 10th century Europe. The ride takes eleven minutes and is available in nine languages, including French.

Overall it was a nice experience. There are guided tours in the museum which you can have in both English and Swedish depending on the session. What I most enjoyed was the ride at the end of the museum. It was a well-made ride and great experience for us. Please note that the ride might be really simulating for children under 3 years of age.

Very good museum. We started with lunch at the outdoor cafe which was great. We were there on Midsummer and had the traditional midsummer meal which was really good. We did the mead tasting which was fun as well. The museum was very interesting and since we were there on Midsummer they did a Viking sacrifice which was cool to see. The ride in the museum was also well done and great for kids.

This museum is included in City Pass (best and cheapest option for visiting museums, in my opinion). This is among my favorites ❤️ it is more than a museum, it is a time travel experience. You will find out information about living conditions, gods, legends and mythology. At the end of the tour you’ll travel along with a father and discover his efforts in order to sustain his family.

Came here because there was a long wait at the ABBA museum. Not worth it, mostly just replicas and information boards on the Vikings.

I can't believe how much this museum made me bored. It is too small, one room actually, with some exhibits from the Viking era and some historical references on the walls. Totally not worthy.
